Many of our optical tooling instruments are capable of performing
alignment functions such as autoreflection, collimation,
autocollimation, colineation, and reticle projection.
However, a light source is required to illuminate the reticle
in all of these procedures.
The model 508 universal light source fits our
various instruments and accessories to provide reticle illumination
for these alignment functions. Cool-source lighting is provided
by a white LED lamp having a 30-degree uniform diffusion (nearing
fiberoptic quality) and a 15,000+ hour life.
The 508 kit comes standard with a convenient battery-powered DC power
supply that allows easy use in the field where access to AC power is
difficult. The DC version uses common dry cell batteries that
provide approximately 12 hours of illumination. A lightweight
multi-voltage (110-220VAC) transformer may be used when AC power is
available. For non-U.S. applications, please use
plug adapter kit 15287.

Note: This light source was designed to fit most current and older
models requiring illumination. It replaces the 500, 501, 502,
and 5511 light sources (For complete compatibility information,
please see "May be used with" section below). Contact us to inquire about adapters
for instruments which require a specialized light housing.
